We NEED as many hands on deck as possible this Saturday.
We will be pounding in the posts for turns 1 & 2 and the front stretch with the help of our friends at Pavilion Drainage. Todd will be at the track at 9am with their post-pounding truck. We need to maximize this opportunity.
Please bring your tools with you - If you have an impact gun bring it! We will also need 1-1/4 and 15/16 sockets and wrenches. Grinders and torches might come in handy. Anything that you can throw in your vehicle that we might need, bring it The more people with tools the more that we can get done! We developed a system last year that really worked. We set a post, set a rail, and then set the next post. We plan to continue on until the first course is complete around turns 1 & 2 and the front stretch. Each piece of guardrail weighs roughly 100 pounds. If we can get several teams of people to do the work it will help us to keep going at a good pace. Last time it worked so well, because we had a lot of people lending a hand. If we have enough people we could even have a team working on the second course while the team with the truck is setting the first rail. We just need people and tools.
We need your help! This is a very important part of the project. We had a great crew last year– We could really use that many hands again! Please dress for the weather. It is still expected to be cold and snowing. Boots, gloves and lots of layers are a must. We will have heat in the trailer.
Lunch will be provided. This is a pivotal moment in the project and it will be hard work. I’m asking all members, fans or people looking to help out to please do.
See you all THIS SATURDAY to continue to make OUR facility the best there is and the place to race in 2020.
