We had a very productive day today at the Rock. Early on Mike Valencia and I picked up bricks. The clean 53’ trailer got used for the purpose that it was installed for – Mike V. and I put the golf cart in there, and Ricky Francis and Shawn Freeland got the Kubota up and running and parked it in there too. It will be great to be able to properly store our equipment again this winter. Thank you again to the team that cleaned that beast yesterday. Mike V., Shawn, Ricky and Kyle Morrow got all of the PVC out from around the track. Nick and Mike Fauci plucked more fence posts with the loader. Thank you, again Andy Vargo for letting us use this powerful machine. Shawn, Ricky, Vikki Powell, Mark Preston and I removed the remainder of the fencing in turn 4. Vikki ran the grinder like a pro, cutting old cable that she and Irene Fink tore out. I removed more electric wire. Shawn torched some stubborn guardrail so that it could get towed away. The freezers were emptied by Kaydon VanDyne, Makayla Smith, and Irene. This will enable us to cut power to the foodstand this week. Thank you to Rob VanDyne for letting us use his jumpbox while he was in a tree-stand. Thank you all for your hard work. We accomplished a lot due to the influx of manpower and the milder weather. Everyone should be proud of their efforts this weekend.
We plan to work again next weekend on both Saturday, 12/1 & Sunday, 12/2. Saturday’s work day will start in the afternoon after our club meeting. We will be holding our Annual Meeting on Saturday at 10am at the American Legion in Le Roy. All members are encouraged to attend. At this meeting we will elect the new officers of the club. We had a great turn out at the last club meeting – I look forward to seeing everyone this coming weekend as well. If you plan to help at the track on a workday it is essential that you dress for the weather. The place is a giant mud-hole, and boots are a must.
Guardrail and electrical supplies are currently at the top of our wish list. If you have any leads regarding reasonably priced or free materials please call or message Billy Coffey.
